Junior varsity girls basketball team now 16-1
The Decorah High School junior varsity girls basketball team beat Cedar Rapids on Saturday to improve its record to 16 wins and 1 loss.

The Vikings moved out to a 27-13 halftime lead, then added to that lead with a 16-6 fourth quarter that brought the final score to Decorah 50, Cedar Rapids Kennedy 26.  Hannah Kuehner led the Vikings with 10 points, while Kayla Kregel had 8 points.

Last week the Viking JV took home two victories--a 57-11 victory over Prairie Du Chien on Tuesday and a 37-31 overtime win Thursday against Charles City.  Kaitlyn Svestka led the Viking JV with 12 points in Tuesday's game, while Leah Broderick was the top scorer in Thursday's game, with 12 points.
